Febrile antigen kits are based on bacterial suspensions that agglutinate in the presence of antibodies formed in human blood as a result of infection by certain fever-causing microbial agents. In positive samples, the agglutination is macroscopically visible at certain antibody levels in serum. These antigen reagents are used for qualitative and semi-quantitative febrile screening purposes using slide & tube techniques.
